The PBCN Association recommends that all owners obtain insurance and wind insurance. They are often separate insurance policies. However, the PBCN Association cannot recommend the name of an insurance company or an insurance agent to you. Insurance agents and insurance companies can be found in the phonebook or on the Internet.
Before the onset of inclement weather, the PBCN Association recommends that you refer to the hurricane guide at the back of the Red Book. In review, remove all items from your balcony, close your hurricane shutters (if you have them), secure your real and personal property, and alert your friends and family as to your whereabouts during a storm.
If you need special assistance in aid of the onset of inclement weather, please contact friends or family to assist you. PBCN staff my be able to assist you if they have time, but their priorities are first with the common elements of the PBCN Association.
The PBCN Association maintains a special assistance list in the event of an emergency in order to evacuate the building (for instance, during a fire). If you need to be on this evacuation list, then please call the PBCN office at 954-781-6323 and notify the PBCN office that you need to be on this list. The PBCN office staff can update the list and provide it to the north tower front desk. Do not assume that you are on the list and do not assume that the PBCN Association knows that you need assistance during evacuation. Please refer to the Red Book for further instructions.
All North Tower units should have a Red Book and the PBCN Association recommends that owners refer to the Red Book to understand PBCN Association's rules and regulations, and the PBCN Association recommends that you consult the Red Book for a variety of situations that affect your daily life (such as hurricane preparedness, leaving your unit for an extended length of time, and renovation work). If you do not have a Red Book, please contact the PBCN office at 954-781-6323 and ask for one.

Smoke Detectors
Every unit should have at least one battery-operated smoke detector in addition to the electrically-wired smoke detector. October is the month to test your battery-operated smoke detectors and to change their batteries. Smoke detectors that are no longer working should be replaced.
